The Lilydale Farmers Produce Market has been running since 2009, and today, it is held on the first Sunday of the month. The market aims are two-fold: to support local producers and raise money for the local community. This market is an authentic farmers market that sells a range of fresh produce, including fruit, vegetables, meat, jams, chutneys, sauces, soups, pasta, breads, cakes, olive oil, nuts and spices. The market also has a range of cooked foods available to snack on throughout the day, including crepes, pies, egg & bacon rolls and BBQ sausages.
The Healesville Community Market is run over two dates: the 1st Sunday of the month at the River Street Car Park and the 3rd Sunday at Coronation Park on River Street. The Healesville Community Market on the 1st Sunday of the month sells a range of products from their 105 stalls, including crafts, jams, sauces, olive oil, fruit, vegetables, eggs, nuts, bric-a-brac, clothing, jewellery, plants, books and toys. You can also purchase a sausage and a cold drink from the local Scouts, who run a BBQ throughout the market day.
The market on the 3rd Sunday of the month has over 40 stalls and sells an extensive range of homemade products, such as soaps and crafts, honey, jam, plants, recycled books, DVDs and children’s costumes. There are also stalls with a sausage sizzle and a coffee van, which sells hot drinks throughout the day.
Held at the Yarra Glen Race Course, the Yarra Glen Racecourse Market is one of the popular weekend markets in the Yarra Valley. Just an hour’s drive from Melbourne, the market is perfect for picking fresh produce or sampling some tasty food and wines.
