Hi , we are going on a winery tour tomorrow 9th December how should we dress for the weather please
Hi Kerryn,
Melbourne’s weather is notoriously mercurial, so best to check the Bureau of Meteorology site for the most accurate forecast.
Best regards,
Jess
I am planning a trip to Yarra range this Saturday ( 2nd Dec 2017). Will there be a lot of rain? Because I am planing on going tracking around the valley.
Hi Pelgrim,
Yes, there will be a lot of rain all over Victoria this weekend. If you can, I would postpone until next weekend, as there are very heavy rains and thunderstorms forecast.
Best regards,
Jess
Hi, I am booking a sunrise balloon flight over the Yarra Valley. Based on the weather forecast, do you think Sunday 2nd Oct or Mon 3rd Oct would be favorable? Thank you
Hi Georgina, thanks for reaching out.
I have checked the Bureau of Meteorology for the weather forecast and they note the following:
Sunday 2 October
Summary: Min 10 Max 22 Sunny day. Late rain.
Possible rainfall: 5 to 15 mm Chance of any rain: 80%
Mostly sunny day. High (80%) chance of rain in the evening. Winds northerly 30 to 45 km/h.
Monday 3 October
Summary: Min 10 Max 16 Showers easing.
Possible rainfall: 5 to 15 mm Chance of any rain: 90%
Partly cloudy. High (80%) chance of showers. Winds northerly 30 to 40 km/h turning west to northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h during the morning.
I would go with Sunday, the showers (and probably wind) will come later in the day, well after your balloon trip will be over. For your convenience, I have attached the link to the balloon tickets here.
I hope you have a great time in the Yarra Valley – what a great way to spend the weekend!
Regards,
Jess
Can we still enjoy the place in the raining day like today? Thanks
Hi Tania,
The good thing about the Yarra Valley is that it changes and adapts to the seasons. Whereas in Spring and Summer you might find tables and chairs taken outdoors to enjoy the sunshine; in Winter, many wineries stoke the fire to make their wineries a wonderful respite from the cold.
I can recommend a couple of lovely wineries with fireplaces:
1. Acacia Ridge – a historic miner’s cottage with a beautiful brick fireplace.
2. Punt Road – who serve mulled apple cider with hints of cloves and cinnamon.
3. Helen’s Hill – Large open fireplace where you can sit and enjoy a glass.
4. Yarra Yering – Enjoy some of the Yarra Valley’s finest wines in front of an open fireplace.
5. Medhurst – They have a welcoming warming wood burning stove to welcome you in from the cold.
Enjoy your (winter) trip to the Yarra Valley!
Regards,
Jess
